If your like me, the restaurants of the 1970's and 80's were examples of culinary extravagance. In Chicago they had names like La Tour, Cape Cod Room, Club International, Trader Vic, Don Roth’s Blackhawk, Berghoff, Prince Of Wales, to name a few. It all came to a screeching halt in the 1990. Desert Storm, followed by Desert Shield, forced luxury hotels and restaurants a "survive until 95 strategy."
